Ear Wax Removal Training Courses Across the UK
One-day, CPD-accredited ear wax removal training across the UK. Whether you’re a clinician adding microsuction to your existing practice, a pharmacist or audiologist expanding into private ear care, or a career changer building a fully private service, our local courses make it straightforward to train near home. Pick your city below to see the next available date, view what’s included, and book your place.
Every course teaches all three removal methods, microsuction, ear irrigation and manual instrumentation, taught by NHS-trained clinicians on the same evidence-based standards used inside the NHS. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a medical background?
You need some clinical context. Most attendees are nurses, HCAs, audiologists, pharmacists or AHPs. If you’re not sure whether your background fits, drop us a line before booking and we’ll tell you straight.
Is the course accredited?
Yes. It’s CPD-accredited and aligned with BSA, NICE and HCPC standards. The certificate is recognised by insurers, employers and regulators for professional development purposes.
Can I start practising straight away?
Yes, provided you have insurance and equipment. The Training + Kit tier walks you out with the kit; you’ll need to arrange your own indemnity insurance. We include post-course support to help you set up safely.
Do I need prior wax removal experience?
No. We teach from the ground up. Some clinical familiarity (otoscope handling, infection control basics) helps you get the most out of the day, but you don’t need to have done wax removal before.
How much hands-on time will I get?
Roughly half the day. After morning theory, you spend the afternoon on supervised microsuction, irrigation and manual instrumentation. You don’t leave until you’ve done all three on real patients.
What if I don't pass the competency assessment?
We work with you on the day to get you there. If, rarely, we can’t sign you off, we’ll arrange a free repeat session at a future date. Nobody pays twice.
Are food and refreshments included?
Free tea, coffee and water are provided throughout the day. Lunch isn’t included, but the venue has an on-site restaurant if you’d like to eat during the lunch break.
Is parking sorted?
Yes. Every training venue has free on-site parking. If you’re travelling by train, most venues are inside 15 minutes of a major station.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing. We provide all training equipment on the day. If you’d rather train on your own otoscope or loupe, you’re welcome to bring it.
Can I buy equipment separately?
The £1,250 tier includes a full starter kit. If you want kit without the training, or extra consumables on top, get in touch, we’ll quote you directly.
What support do I get after the course?
Email and phone support for clinical questions, business setup, equipment troubleshooting, or anything else that comes up in your first weeks of practice. There’s no time limit.
How do I pay?
Card at checkout, or Klarna in 3 monthly instalments at 0% interest. NHS and corporate bookings can be invoiced on request, email hello@wax.co.uk.
