Private ear care is rapidly growing across the UK. With the NHS no longer offering free ear wax removal in most areas, demand for safe, professional private services has surged. For healthcare professionals, clinic owners and ambitious entrepreneurs, this has created a major opportunity within a growing multi-million-pound industry.
Our one-day hands-on training course teaches you how to confidently carry out microsuction, irrigation and manual ear wax removal using safe, structured practical training designed around real-world appointments.
Open to both medical and non-medical backgrounds, the course is designed to make learning feel achievable, supportive and commercially valuable, whether you want to add a new treatment to an existing business or start your own ear wax removal service from scratch.
You leave with a CPD-accredited certificate, practical experience across all three removal methods and ongoing support as you begin building your confidence, your services and your future in private ear care.
We believe confidence comes from doing, not just watching.
You’ll receive comprehensive pre-course material built by our expert clinical team covering all the fundamentals: anatomy, ear pathology, clinical safety and the underpinning theory of microsuction. It’s designed to be absorbed properly, in your own time, at your own pace.
By the time you arrive on course day, the theory is already embedded. Which means your day with us is spent where it should be: hands-on, with real equipment, real patient scenarios and expert trainers guiding every technique.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The course is structured around safe practice, patient assessment, infection control, clinical decision-making and the practical skills needed to carry out ear wax removal responsibly.
The full curriculum follows the regulatory and clinical guidance that governs ear care in the UK, including BSA, NICE, NHS and HCPC. You leave the day able to assess, treat and document safely, and able to recognise exactly when a presentation falls outside your scope and needs onward referral.
You need some clinical context. Most attendees are nurses, HCAs, audiologists, pharmacists or AHPs. If you’re not sure whether your background fits, drop us a line before booking and we’ll tell you straight.
Yes. It’s CPD-accredited and aligned with BSA, NICE and HCPC standards. The certificate is recognised by insurers, employers and regulators for professional development purposes.
Yes — provided you have insurance and equipment. The Training + Kit tier walks you out with the kit; you’ll need to arrange your own indemnity insurance. We include post-course support to help you set up safely.
No. We teach from the ground up. Some clinical familiarity (otoscope handling, infection control basics) helps you get the most out of the day, but you don’t need to have done wax removal before.
Roughly half the day. After morning theory, you spend the afternoon on supervised microsuction, irrigation and manual instrumentation. You don’t leave until you’ve done all three on real patients.
We work with you on the day to get you there. If — rarely — we can’t sign you off, we’ll arrange a free repeat session at a future date. Nobody pays twice.
Yes. Hot lunch, unlimited tea and coffee, and refreshments throughout the day. All included in the course price.
Yes — every Village Hotel venue has free on-site parking. If you’re travelling by train, most venues are inside 15 minutes of a major station.
Nothing. We provide all training equipment on the day. If you’d rather train on your own otoscope or loupe, you’re welcome to bring it.
The £1,250 tier includes a full starter kit. If you want kit without the training, or extra consumables on top, get in touch — we’ll quote you directly.
Email and phone support for clinical questions, business setup, equipment troubleshooting, or anything else that comes up in your first weeks of practice. There’s no time limit.
